Certified Green Restaurant® Scarpetta, a New York Times three-star restaurant, strives to “create bold flavors by amplifying the essence of seasonal ingredients”. Scarpetta serves classic Italian cuisine with pastas made daily in house. 

Scarpetta has implemented 19 environmental steps to earn 99.14 GreenPoints™. By choosing not to offer bottled water, this restaurant avoids contributing to the 4 billion pounds of plastic bottles that end up in the landfill every year. Scarpetta also has an Energy Star dishwasher that is 30-40% more efficient than conventional models. In addition, Scarpetta’s touchless sensor restroom faucets conserve water and energy.

Composting Food Waste and Recycling Plastics, Glass, Aluminum, Cardboard, and Paper can keep up to 90% of our waste out of landfills.

By choosing not to offer bottled water at our location, we avoid contributing to the 4 billion pounds of plastic bottles that end up in landfills each year.

Our Energy Star certified dishwasher is 30-40% more efficient than conventional models.

By offering bulk condiments for our dine-in customers, we avoid wasteful single-use packets.

We use occupancy sensors in our restrooms, which reduces electricity usage in these areas by approximately 60%.

By performing routine maintenance our our equipment we ensure it functions at the best possible efficiency.

We have installed high-efficiency hand dryers in our restrooms, because this is the most efficient and least wasteful way to dry hands.

Over 36% of our main dishes are vegetarian or vegan, which require significantly less energy and water to produce than meat-based dishes.

Our touchless sensor restroom faucets improve hygiene while conserving water and energy.

Our facility is free of polystyrene-foam (aka Styrofoam™), which keeps harmful chemicals and litter out of our environment.
